Organic VS inorganic

PMU Pigments are used in permanent make-up to apply color to the top layer of the dermis. They are in fact dyes that have been specially developed for introduction into the skin. They are available in different colors and tones, ranging from natural shades to striking colors.

Organic and Inorganic

There are two types of pigments used in permanent make up; organic and inorganic pigments. Although both are now completely produced in a laboratory, there are differences in the pigments that are important for choosing the right pigment for your customer.

Organic pigments are made from plant materials and have a brighter color but fade faster than inorganic pigments. Inorganic pigments are made from mineral materials and have a longer lifespan, but sometimes a less bright color.

*And what are hybrid pigments?*

Hybrid pigments are a mix of organic and inorganic pigments. They have been developed to combine the benefits of both types of pigments to provide better performance for permanent make-up applications.

We believe it is important to choose high-quality pigments, because they must be safe to use. We also work with pigments that are hypoallergenic to prevent allergic reactions. That is why we work with certified pigments from, among others, Biotek Milano, which are available at Amavi PMU, and are developed according to the highest quality standards.

In May 2023 we saw how with our own eyes Biotek produces the pigments. A strict hygienic process to offer the best quality for pmu artists and their customers.

Special formula

Biotek has developed a special 🥼 🧪 formula where the colors will eventually fade.

*What does that mean? *

With some pigment brands that do not have this formula, we regularly see eyebrows discolor over time. When a pigment is made up of the colors yellow, red and black, these are 3 separate molecules. Your body breaks down these color molecules one by one, first yellow, then red and over time black. During this process, the eyebrows may discolor.

Bee Biotek they have developed a coating in which the individual molecules are trapped together within the coating. Your body will break down this group with the coating in one go. At the Biotek pigments, there will be no discoloration in the long term, it will only fade.
