My customer wants microblading, How do I determine if it is the right choice?

My customer wants microblading, How do I determine if it is the right choice?

Powderbrows are currently very popular and give a beautiful make-up look to your eyebrows. Microblading on the other hand, is more natural. Bee microblading you make with the knife hairstrokes and after healing you have created a natural look. Microblading generally fades faster than powderbrows. Another big difference is that powderbrows can be used on any skin, microblading not.

It is quite understandable that some ladies, especially older ones, are not in favor powderbrows want to go but prefer one microblading want treatment. You can do this immediately, but assessing the skin is very essential. When the skin is not suitable for microblading, then the result will be disappointing and fade faster. If you have assessed the skin and informed the customer about this, then the choice is conscious and you cannot be held accountable for your work.

Pre-assess the skin microblading

How do you assess the skin's suitability? microblading? Skin structure and age are important. People with dry skin and few pores are generally suitable for this microblading. With oily skin it is a different story.

If you see shiny oily skin, it is wise to take a good look at the skin. I assess the skin by looking at the pores in the eyebrow with a magnifying glass. Sweep the hair aside with an eyelash brush and look at the pore structure through the magnifying glass. Everyone has pores, of course, but are there many and are they large? Then go microblading don't take what they want.
With large and many pores in the skin, applying the pigment will be more difficult because a lot of sebum and fat comes out of the pore structure. This means that little pigment can be absorbed into the skin and it will microblading not good grip.

You can also see during the treatment itself whether it will be successful. See how many 'pases' you want to do, after the first pases see whether it is absorbed well. I often use different ones for sensitive or mature skin cartridges, then I take a finer needle. I will tell you more about this in another blog.

Discuss the options with your customers

Assess the skin during the intake and carefully discuss the options and possibilities with the customer so that they also understand why microblading advises or not. In my salon, oily skin automatically falls under one powderbrows treatment.

An alternative for customers who still want strokes is the 3D brows treatment. The pore structure of the eyebrow on the nose side is often low in everyone. With 3D brows you place a number of strokes at the beginning of the eyebrow for the natural look and you finish the rest of the eyebrow with the powder technique.

Old microblading replace

Many customers come to us with old ones microblading. They want to have their eyebrows trimmed with microblading while the skin is not suitable for that. Unfortunately, mistakes are made within the industry and to correct this, the old PMU often has to be lasered away. After allowing the skin to rest for 2 to 3 months, I apply new ones powderbrows. Despite that microblading fades quickly, there will always be some color left. Before we treat the eyebrows again, they must first be lasered away so that I can start on beautiful new brows on a clean "canvas".

After-treatment tips microblading & powderbrows
  • Bee powderbrows much more crust formation occurs than with microblading. Bee microblading It's only the strokes that need to heal, so that heals much better.
  • Bee microblading we use dry healing. The drier the eyebrows are, the better the pigment will sink. Only very dry skin can be rubbed a little with a cotton swab skin jelly.
  • Bee powderbrows you only need to remove the wound fluid with sterile water. Nothing else.
  • The customer does not always know what the consequences may be if they do microblading want to choose. It is up to you as a specialist to judge this. Also dare to say no to customers, you want them to be satisfied and want to come back to you, right?
