PMU cartridges explained

Which one cartridges for pmu are all there? What is the difference between the many pmu needles?

The PMU Optima cartridges were developed by the major needle brand Kwadron. These PMU needles are universal, so they fit on any universal PMU machine. The cartridges are equipped with a membrane and are approved for use in Europe.

Below we briefly explain the differences between the cartridges out.

The configuration indicates how the needles are placed in the module.

  • Round Liner (RL)
The needles are in a round shape. Designed for outlining and contouring. Extremely precise, sturdy and pointed needles. Perfect for creating details. The Round Liner is available from 1 needle, which we call the 1P Round Liner.

  • Round Shader (RS)
The needles are still placed round, just like with the Round Liners, but with more space between the needles. This ensures more pigment implementation in the skin.

  • Magnum (MG)
At the Magnum the needles are in two rows. This makes them suitable for shading large areas but also for creating wide and clear contours.

  • Flat (FL)
The Flat looks like the magnum but has only one row of needles. The needle module leaves more transparent marks.

  • Slope (CF) / Curved
At the Sloped or Curved cartridges the needles have different lengths. The outer needles are shorter than the middle needles, causing the side(s) of the row of needles to slope downwards.

The Taper

The taper of the needle is the way the tip of the needle runs. There are different tapers and with some cartridges you can choose between the tapers.
  • Long Taper (LT)
The needle has a bleed of 7mm, which stands for a slim needle that leaves very accurate and clear lines.

  • Ultra Short Taper (UT)
Very short taper of 2mm, a short taper provides more inconspicuous and slightly waxy marking.

  • Point Taper (PT)
Each needle is sharpened twice, giving it an extra sharp point.

  • Textured (T)
The letter "T" behind the taper stands for 'textured'. This means that the needle is not a smooth needle but with texture on the needle. This ensures more pigment implementation in the skin.

Needle size

There are 6 different needle sizes (diameter of the needle) to choose from. Determine the needle module for your work.

  • 18 - 0.18mm

  • 20 - 0.20mm

  • 25 - 0.25mm

  • 30 - 0.30mm

  • 35 - 0.35mm

  • 40 - 0.40mm

Features

  • The cartridges contain a membrane that prevents fluids from flowing back into the module and stabilizes the needle for more precise work.
  • The tip of the needle module is specially designed for each needle so that the housing fits perfectly.
  • The textured tip ensures a perfect, even pigment flow.
  • The sharp needles prevent skin trauma and improve healing. The needles are made of hypoallergenic surgical steel.

 Round Liner

 Round Shader

 Magnum

 Flat

 Curved/Sloped

All of the above features reflect the needle module code on the label. For example, if the label says 25/3 RSPT-T, it is a module with 3 needles that are each 0.25 mm, the 3 needles are in theRound Shader formation, have a point taper with texture on the needle.
