All countries in Europe currently have "their own" rules and guidelines for the production of pigments and tattoo ink. Europe wants all countries to work according to one guideline so that the same rules apply to pigment and tattoo ink production everywhere. These new regulations called Reach (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) will have an effect on the production of the pigments. De quantities and composition of ingredients This pigments will have to be adjusted. The use of iron oxide in pigments, among other things, is then no longer permitted. In other words, the recipe must be adjusted.
No, iron oxide pigments are not dangerous and have also been used for years in the permanent makeup industry. The use of iron oxide pigments has never led to allergic reactions, but due to the new regulations, other requirements are set for the production process of the composition.
From January 2022 you can still keep buying the pigments of your favorite brands. The brands that we offer will come this fall / from 1 January all with an alternative line that fully meets the new Reach requirements. However, in some cases the shade of the color will be somewhat adjusted because of the new "recipe". Some colors will disappear from the range and in other cases you see no difference in shade or color.
What is important for you and for us is that our suppliers are aware of the regulations and are working on it. Perma Blend (So also Tina Davies & Brow Daddy), Artyst and Ever After are all the current composition of the pigments to adjust so that all pigments in the new year comply with the new European rules.
As your supplier, we will monitor and communicate the messages, regulations and information. Transparency is important so that everyone knows where he or she stands.
In our webshop we offer pigments and materials that fully comply with the Reach regulations when it starts.
