Striking lengths are used for different PMU techniques. Depending on the type of machine, the stroke can vary. Often the battle (stroke) is confused with the needle depth, read below the difference between the battle and needle depth at PMU machines.
What must first be said is that the desired battle length is related to your personal style for you. Before you can find out which machine and stroke is ideal for you, we recommend assessing which treatments you want to perform and what feels comfortable for you.
The needle depth of a machine determines the distance between the needle and the tip of the needle module. The battle determines how the needle withdraws and collects ink. Both the needle depth and the battle must match in size.
Shortage
If you use a short stroke, you can expect the needle to move more slowly and soften the skin penetrates than with a higher stroke. This stroke is optimal for the blending or soft shading PMU treatments. A stroke of 2.5 mm or less can be considered short. In the PMU industry this is the most used battle length.
Medium
The medium percussion length (2.7 mm to 3.5mm) is advised for starting specialists, because it is the most versatile, safe, and inclusive strokes to use for a variety of treatments and techniques. If you want to do shaden (shadow technology) or packing technology, then this is the battle for you! This impact length is not recommended for precise, fine lines of techniques. With a short stroke, the end result can be just a bit nicer and tighter than with a medium stroke. However, this depends on per specialist. Specialists with a lot of experience can quickly achieve all desired results with multiple stroke lengths.
Long
A long battle length (higher than 3.0 mm / 3.5 mm) is often used by the more experienced specialists for intense, single-pass lines. These strokes are also very suitable for Gray Shading and Color Packing. Longer strokes feel like a heavy blow on the skin and let a lot of ink through. Machines with a longer stroke requires exercise and experience because you use it for "single passes" and in the event of incorrect use, the skin can traumatize.
